About the KOSPHAR
The Korean Society of Pharmacology (KOSPHAR) is devoted to fostering
pharmacological research, education, and the dissemination of scientific
information on pharmacology. By providing a spectrum of pharmacological
information, the Society endeavors to play a pivotal role in the progress of
pharmacological science. To provide current, up-to-date information to the
pharmacological community is the KOSPHAR's primary focus.
Founded in 1947 with 7 pharmacologists, the Korean has now grown to
over 500 members as of 2001. The KOSPHAR is the largest scientific and
professional organization serving the Discipline of Pharmacology and
Therapeutics in the Republic of Korea. The society has been a member
society of the International Union of Pharmacology (IUPHAR)
since 1978.
Annual Meeting : Annual meeting is held in November and has been increasing in size every year. The meeting is now two days long, and consists of a number of in-depth lectures of pharmacology, special lectures, several symposia, and more than 200 scientific presentations. The annual meeting has played important role in providing an important opportunity for Korean pharmacologists to meet and discuss areas of common scientific interest and concern.
