The Korean Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology is the
official journal of both the Korean Physiological Society
and Korean Society of Pharmacology. The Journal is published
bi-monthly in English. Submission of any original paper
on physiological and pharmacological sciences and interactions
of chemicals with biological systems is invited. Articles
on original methods in physiological and pharmacological
sciences will also be consigered for publication. Manuscripts
are gerenally reviewed by two referees. Once they have
been accepted no substantial part should be published
elsewhere.

An original and two copies of each manuscript should

Manuscripts should be submitted in double-spaced
typewritten form on one side of the paper of A4
size with 3cm margines on all sides, All pages should
be numbered consecutively; title page will be page
1. Manuscripts should be divided into the following
parts in the order indicated.
1) Title page : it should include the complete
title of the paper, name(s), addresses and
institutional affiliations for the authors.
Running title, number of figures and tables,
name and address for correspondence.
2) Abstract : it should be typed on a separate
page, not exceeding 200 words It should include
the purpose, general methods, findings and
conclusions of the study and described in
a single paragraph. Keywords of less than
10 items should be included here.
3) Introduction> : containing the reasons
and purpose of the study.
4) Methods : sufficient information should
be include th permit repetition of experimental
works. Commonly used methods require only
a citation of the original source.
5) Results : these should be given concisely.
The use of tables and figures to illustrate
the same results would not be allowed
6) Discussion : should be pertinent to the
results. Speculation is to be based on data
only and this section should not repeat results.
7) Acknowledgment : including sources of financial
supports, if any.

Tables with their title should be typed in double-space,
each on a separate sheet. No abbreviations in the
title. Type table footnotes, lettered a, b, etc.,
at the end of table. Line drawing should be submitted
as three sets glossy prints which are large enough
to be legible when reduced(not larger than 8 * 10
in or 20 * 25 cm). All figures and tables should
be referred in the text and be numbered consecutively.
They are expected to be identified on the reverse
side with the author's name, the number and the
orientation of the figure such as top or bottom,
etc. Manuscripts should be consistent in their use
of units(generally SI units). References. The references
should include only the works cited in the text. |

should be listed alphabetically with no serial numbers
at the end of the paper. References should include
author(s), title of paper refferred to, journal,
volume, page numbers and year in order. List all
authors, surnames and initials. Abbreviation of
titles of journals should follow the list of journal
indexed in Index Medicus. Two or more references
to the same author(s) with the same publication
year should have a, b, c etc., suffixed to the year.
References to books should include the authors,
title of articles, editor(s), complete title of
the book, number of edition, publisher, place of
publication pages and year in order.

References should be cited in the text by giving
the author's surname, with the year of publication
in parentheses, e.g.(Hill, 1983; Hill & Dale,
1983) in the chronological order and alphabetical
aorder for the references published in the same
year. When the references is mede to the work by
thress or more authors, the surname of the first
author is followed by et al, e.g. (Hill et al, 1938).

The followings are to be used throughout : unpunctuated
(?g, mg, g, kg, ?l, ml, l, mm, cm, m, msec, sec,
min, h, %, ¡É, ?M, mM, M LD50, wt), and punctuated
(i.v., i.p., s.c., i.m., p.o., Vol., Fig., approx.,
temp., etc). In other cases, authors should avoid
abbreviations unless they are easily understood
and help in reading the paper, and they should be
kept to a minimun. when introduced, in the abstract
and text or in labeling figures, abbreviations must
be defined at first in abstract and text, respectively.
